I did a search on my town and autism in Yahoo Groups and found a local group for Asperger's Families here in Tucson. Try that, type in your town/city/county and autism in Yahoo Groups. We actually just met in person and we share local information.

I visit two other forums like that but I don't post. Unfortunately they're Polish so I can't post them up - one is for adults, the other one for parents. (btw, Asperger Syndrome in our language means Zespol Aspergera :P ).

There are a couple of forums around that I'm a member of.

http://www.aspergianisland.com - it was quiet the last time I looked but that was late in 2007. My account has been de-activated there so I don't know what's happening now.

http://www.aspiesforfreedom.com - that's about as active as here at times. I'm taking a break from there at present while I settle in after a house move.

I could plug my own site (it's a Wiki) but it's more than just about Aspergers so I'll leave that up to you.

I might be looking for others soon, but it depends on a number of factors and I have things to deal with first - in particular the settling of the house move and the preparation of the coming football season!

No others currently. I was on AspergerInfo.com a couple of years ago, but left because I couldn't stand the negativity. The HealthBoards site was a good one, but it was very rigidly monitored and didn't all off-board contact. This site strikes a good balance between the two.

I mainly stick to Wrong Planet but I read a variety of Autism blogs. Although, it annoys me how many blogs focus Autism Speaks or on mercury when that isn't something I'm interested in. I guess it's because there are a lot of parents' blogging...

There are a couple of Apsie tribes on Tribe.net...that may be where I found out about WP, and it was over there where someone suggested I look into the autistic spectrum in the first place.
My favorite tribe name is "Wild Aspies"..there is also a tribe called "Autism/ADHD"...and another just called "Aspergers Syndrome"...It was over there where there were a few folks who would flame anyone who was self-diagnosed....so i was made to feel unwelcome and like I had made an ass of myself..so i left at least one tribe and lurked for a long time...Meanwhile I was moderator of my own tribes....."the social anxiety tribe" "adults who don't drive cars" "tribe for the socially inept"....9i am also the moderator of an ADD tribe that I didn't create)....and so on....lately I have ot been able to log inot tribe...which stinks, because I have alot of pictures stored in my account

As for forums, I mainly stick to WP and my own (sig). I go to AFF about once in a blue moon these days (less familiar territory), and as for blogs I really used to enjoy Kevin Leitch's blog. Too bad he decided to close it (thanks, JB Jr. ). I really should frequent autism blogs more though... I have a whole list at my site and never get round to reading them much.

Ah but then this is your site so of course you'll stick to this place! [/cheek].

Yeah, it annoys me that the mercury issue is still such a hot topic and has remained so when it should have been killed off ages ago. Not surprised it doesn't really interest you with all that going on. It only caught my attention because of a certain idiot.
