this is probably really dumb- but that's never stopped me in the past- but i would like to know if anyone here has a favourite colour. when i was really young i used to be obsessed with arranging things in order of the colour spectrum (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet) and i still do as i think that when things are arranged this way they are at their most beautiful.
i've often heard that aspies love to arrange things in numerical, alphabetical (my second and eternal love) and chronological order but i've never heard of aspies being interested in the colour spectrum (apart from myself).
also, is there a particular colour that you dislike?

my favourite colour is turquoise. it reminds me of mermaids.

the only colour i dislike is orange. it hurts my eyes (unless it's in a pastel shade).

I can't say I have a favorite color. When I was young, I would classify things according to number, including the members of my family.

My son, diagnosed with autism, uses the rainbow spectrum as you do.

I love pink. My pupils dilate whenever I see alot of pink.

Either green or blue or black. Any of the three, you choose. Well, I had the feeling that someone was going to ask the infamous color question eventually, so it might as well have been you, hectate.

My favorite color is red because it reminds me of blood, and tuberculosis is a disease that causes you to cough up blood. I'm very, very obsessed with tuberculosis.

I don't dislike any colors. I just really, really like red. But I don't like certain combinations of colors together because they hurt my eyes. Like bright red letters on a blue background, or neon pink and neon green. I hate it when people decide that it's a good idea to use those colors together on a web site.

You have turquoise and pink, but not black and white?! BLACK!! !

I dont like putting yellow and green together. Blue. Sometimes silver.

it's great to see that other people are as enthusiastic about colours as i am.

hale bopp- i love pink too, especially bright pink. i don't care if other people say it's girly because i find it very aesthetically pleasing.

TB Samurai- i know exactly what you mean about certain combinations of colours together. personally, i find it physically imposible to read neon blue letters on a neon pink background. the letters appear to flicker across the page and it feels like i'm having a bright light shone in my eyes.

sarcastic name- i intentionally didn't put black on the poll because i was being manipulative! black is really popular so i knew if i included it in the poll it would take several times longer to collect varied results. i also deliberately excluded white, grey and metallic colours. sorry! since i'm a die-hard goth, consider yourself lucky the poll didn't look like this!:

Pink was my favorite color when I was younger but now, I gravitate toward blue with a hint of purple in it which is the color scheme of my home and majority of my clothing. Turquoise, OTOH, gets on my nerves.
I had a childhood obsession with Rainbow Brite and the Care Bears and as a consequence loved rainbows. Even now, I sometimes buy objects just because they're colored in the spectrum and my beanie babies(all 151 of them), are arranged according to color in rainbow order.

I like Red mostly, then blue, then white, bright pinks are good too. In face I like alot of colours, except green. I don't eat anything green, it makes me feel sick.

I like blue and grey.

YELLOW

I blame my mother for my fondness of yellow. I was born a little before she graduated from grad school in psychology and that was about the time the Psychology of Color became big and supposedly yellow was to promote intellectual stimulation and heighten intelligence in babies. So most of my room (including the furniture) was yellow. She of course had all colors of the rainbow available, too. But yellow was by far the dominant.

I love red.

The color of life and death, glory, kings and the world's ending, the setting of suns.

Rich and symbolic, full of life and power. I have a few red shirts and I love to wear them. They make me feel "wagnerian" on a good day.
