What do you think of this video and how it portrays AS to NTs--especially children?

Autism was spelled "Austim" at :55.

A lot of the statements are vague and generalize a lot. I think if children are old enough to be able to read words as big as Autism Spectrum Disorder, they are old enough to get concepts like sympathy and empathy

The use of animals in the background was weird, especially ones that were repeated.

3:25 really was spelled "reallt".

No child under 12 is going to sit through more than 8 minutes of text with weird animal pictures in the background, and no sound. I'm sorry, I made it to 4 before I had to quit.

Impressive- I didn't quite reach a minute and a half before I decided "that's enough!" If something is targeted towards young children, it needs to be shorter, and more entertaining. Maybe the video could incorporate actual people instead of just text for instance. Kids are not going to sit and watch that whole thing and actually pay attention. I think it would be easier to give that kind of information to kids in the form of a presentation anyway, where kids could be engaged in asking/answering questions and with interacting with the presentation. Especially since they're going to need help understanding some of the concepts anyway. Otherwise it will be another snore-fest like most of the informational videos they made us watch in school.

I think it's stereotypical, vague, poorly worded, ungrammatical, insulting, insensitive, and boring. Typical "awareness" ****. Awareness my ***.

You could go so far as to say it's propaganda.

I hate videos like this. My network shut down 6 minutes in, and I saw TRIPE! It seemed to change a bit after that. I STILL hated it and the way it was done.

I didn't think the whole entire thing was terrible, but it did seem long, and too advanced for elemtary school kids. I have a real problem with any message that portrays those with ASDs as lesser. I am already seeing the kids in my sons kindergarten class treating him like he's slow. He's not slow, and he doesn't need pity friends. I was seeing a lot of that kind of thinking in that video. Even most of the visuals had baby animal, or a small animal beside a big animal. I'd rather the message portray that those with AS are equals.
