I am a 26 year old female in a month.
I think I was wrongly diagnosed. I can't go to a psychologist for a month because of insurance issues.
I was diagnosed with a learning disability in the 80's. They wanted to put me in a special school since I had emotional problems.
I was very shy when I was little. I have since then opened up. I found ways to make friends.
I wanted to learn and at times I was very smart. I could have done the work if they just taught me.
I know I passed a alegbra math test with a good score in 6th grade. I knew nothing about it.
I'm very good at reading and writing. I tend to use big words.
I tend to have a hard time focusing and cannot tune things out. I hear a million convosations going on. I tend to get osobesed with people and certain subjects. I only like 3 or 4 interested in big detail.
I was also into puzzles when I was younger and I hated my hair touched and I still do.
I was just wondering if anyone has any input.

Could be. I'm sure someone will post the test websights soon.

What kind of emotional problems did they diagnose you with? Other than being shy when you were younger, do you have any unusual difficulties in social situations?

BTW, what are your obsessions?

I'm not quite sure. I knew I cried a lot.
I'm immature for my age. My development was slow. I always had friends who were younger or older. I have had a few friends my age.
I don't always connect with people like I should. Certain people I really like I do.
Some of my obessions are planes, trains, video games, travel, photography.
I read a lot of books when I was yonger and did puzzles.

I have always loved animals. I feel like I connect to them more. I am very paranoid and people tend to think I am lying a lot which I always tell the truth.

Why do they think you are lying?

Maybe I come off as lying. I can't always look people in the eye and play a straight face.

My mom says I tend to find things that aren't there in a situation and I get frustrated when I don't have too. I also laugh for no reasons or inaproriate times.

It's entirely possible you have aspergers. It apparently wasn't considered a diagnosis until 1994, so it makes sense if they didn't diagnose you with it.

Plus it's entirely possible to have a learning disability and aspergers (like I have). I learned from this site that it's also possible to have aspergers along with other things like ADD/ADHD, or different emotional problems.

I encourage you to see a psychologist when you can - if it's an insurance issue, some psychs can be accommodating, and some (especially at teaching universities) have sliding scales so you can pay only what you can afford.

I definity plan on it. I am just afraid of what my parents will think about me going. I won't be on their insurance in a month.
I have heard it is possible to have a learning disability and be a aspie.
I know after 94 they pretty much ignored me. so it is possible. I did go into normal schooling in 98/99

I was in Special Education in a normal school.
I will have my own insurance when I turn 26. I work for a hospital so I bet I can find a good psychologist that is affordable.

I have that problem too. I can't make my voice and demeanor sound and appear truthful while I am saying something truthful. It got me into major trouble as a child. As in, it got me really hurt. I'm sorry you are dealing with that also.
