I've come to the realization I'm apparently mentally pre-occupied and busy a lot more often than I initially thought...is it normal for us to always be "firing on all cylinders" no matter what we're doing, and not really doing much resting/relaxing?

Before I started taking my anti-anxiety meds a couple years ago, I had an extremely fast metabolism. I never seemed to rest either. I'm pretty sure that the anxiety was my driving force. I know this because, once I started my meds, my metabolism slowed, and so did the 'hyper-activity'. Sometimes, I miss it.

Do you think anxiety could possibly be your 'driving force' as well ?

I think it is, for me. When I am a bit anxious I'm at my best, I feel a pleasant urge to do the things I like (you may call them obsessions  ), when I'm completely relaxed instead I just go depressed and lose the will to do anything.

God bless (the right amount of) anxiety

Yes thats me and know its partly due to anxiety and was offered anti-anxiety meds when diagnosed, but to me my symptoms are apart of who I am and quite like my hectic moments so choose not to take any medication, not advising here just my choice.

I just can't stop thinking. I try to not think of anything, but it doesn't work. There's always something.
And it's really bad if I'm trying to go to sleep, after something stimulates my mind, especially if what I'm thinking is good enough to need to be written down.

I have plenty of thoughts, they're just sometimes not all aligned.
