Can you notice someone, out in public, and kind of watch their behaviors and just think to yourself, "That person might have AS."?

I was just talking to my husband, and there is an engineer that he works with that I would be willing to bet *something important* that this person is an Aspie.

Just wondering.

yeah, i get a feeling about someone once in a while. I feel like I can recognize it in other people, but it may be my imagination.

I know some people who I think might have AS to a more severe degree than I have. I am not the most social person, but I know a couple of people who just seem to be out of it.

I'm usually too self-absorbed with my hyper-sensitivity, to notice what others are doing, or look like. Not always though. Whenever I do manage to relax a little, I can pick up on everyones' personalities. It's a self-defense thing. I scan people, in an effort to prepare myself, for potential social disturbances and/or unwanted social contact. :x

Sound familiar?

I'm with jawbrodt...I'm usually to self-involved to notice other people.

Yes in small groups, but if there's more than 3 or 4 other people I get nervous and don't notice much at all.

heh heh
i don't get out much... i just chill with my small group of friends and mind my own business a lot, although i have been expanding a little more recently. I'm somewhat notorious (for being so strange and writing such neat music) amongst some well informed people in my school.

Oh, you write music. :) That's awesome. (I just replied in the other music thread too).

I have a friend who I know is an aspie. I think that I am but I'm not completely sure; but he's even weirder than me. Other than that, I don't see many people because I live in a rural area (near a city, but it's a good drive) and I don't go out much!

Ran into someone I know. This woman always tells me stories as if I knew the pertinent latest facts of her life, despite me only seeing her once a year or less. And she doesnt know when enough is enough, and last time, did it in a highly inappropriate place(the narrow exit of a store), regardless of my cues that we should move.(we were getting glared at by staff).

The latest story related that she is estranged from her family now. Very Aspie-like, Very annoying situation.

Aspies dont have to like other Aspies(I now think she is one)

Same 'ere.

My focus everyday is getting stuff done; not concerning myself with if other people has AS, or something else..

I once had someone sat beside me on the bus who was very busy hand flapping. I don't know if there are other disorders that have this as a symptom, so I think he may have been an Aspie.

I couldn't care less anymore. Most of whom I consider having AS/HFA are people whom I wouldn't want to have a conversation with. I find them annoying.

Kaleido, he could have just been very anxious.
