During my youth, my public school had certain wooden objects that made me feel a littly happy in a unique way. My favorites amung them were wooden things. Shapes and beads. Their smooth paint, and their bright announcing colors. ahhh... I could still just stare at them for way over an hour. Yes, I know these things are made for children, but what do I care. :D

The shapes that I like to stare at.

Huge beads. Again, just the look of it makes me feel certain feelings that I don't get otherwise. I guess to most people it's just plan ol' beeds. Hard to explain my view of these things. Course, I have a coworker who is Hey Kitty obsessed, so, whoes complaining. heheh.

I'm sure everyone has different things they like just for scensory pleasure. These are just two things that seem, strangly, very highly pleaseing to my eyes.

I liked Silly Putty alot because I could always make little creatures out of it. and it didn't dry out like play-doh, or clay.

Shiny or clear things that catch the light a certain way, leaves, stones, things that look cool when you spin them.

I love shiny things too, that's why I like jewelry so much. :D

Maybe you might like to get a small chain and put necklace charms on them. A crafts store probably has a long chain, as well as some necklace charms. They have so many shapes.

Office chairs that swivel. I can spin for AGES.

I also like the feeling of heavy grains on my hands. Much like Amelie from the movie when she dips her hands in the seeds at the grocers. However I buy my seeds (I have a bucket with buck wheat in it) and don't do it to other peoples food stuffs.

When I was in primary school, I used to love those unit cubes that the teachers would use to help children understand maths. I used to grab loads and just loved the feel of so many in my hands. Also, I've always loved things like strings and chains. I like wrapping them around my hands, and used to spend ages playing with chains and long beaded necklaces, arranging them into different shapes and patterns on tables, or simply spinning them around.

Pens. I had a thing for ballpoint pens. As I've gotten older it's become more important to me how they write, how comfortable they are to hold, etc. But as a kid I was just obsessed with them. I have three pen/pencil holders in my office right now, all stuffed, plus several in my desk drawer. Also, I still really love the old Scripto mechanical pencils from the 60's-70's (they have a heavy 1.1 lead versus the usual smaller ones).

I love anything round or spherical (oval is quite nice too). Especially in bright colours. I remember having a large ball as a child which was inflateable and whilst playing with it it landed on a prickly bush and popped!. I was so sad for the ball :( . I tend to personalise objects and feel sorry for them if anything bad happens to them, but with round things I feel so much more.

Marbles.

Whenever I walk through a toy store (and in fact, this happens rather often), I stop at the marble section. I love clear glass marbles with strange ornaments in them. The colour is of no importance. After all these years, I still find them to be awesome. Though, no doubt, of little use. But looking at them is enough already; I get sucked into watching how they shine when held against a light.

Collecting stickers.

I love how there are stickers to about every children's film. My mother even buys them for me, though I hardly ever finish a series. It's just too expensive. Nevertheless, to collect them, order them, to know I have them is one of the best feelings in the world.

play dough. I can play with it for hours. Not even making anything, just changing its shape. Like throwing it from on hand to the other to make it round, pinching it to make it flat, that kind of stuff. A few weeks ago, the teacher I'm doing Field Experience with gave me a recipie for coffee smelling playdough ( more clay that you can fire in the oven). I made it right away and played with it for a hours. It smells good to. ( Love the smell of coffee but not the taste).

another thing, Glowwy Spinny globe thing. Device with a enclosed plastic bubble at top. Bubble has a plastic circle with LEDs on it. Press button, the LEDs light and the ccircle spins. LEDs go on and off in patterns. Really fun just to sit and watch.

I love my mom's big exercise ball. I love lying on top of it and rocking back and forth with my eyes closed while quietly listening to music. It's quite soothing.
