i only noticed that for most of us aspies(not all, but still a high percentage) our aspiesness is tied vvith some kind of physical problem or imperfection, still vve are very nice people if not for modelling for sharing the time vvith.
i see boys or girls aspies are usually healthy( or almost not have big 'health' problems). strong people, seXual attractive, and charismatic. but then i read and embry or fetus body processing article, in some cases it development can be affected for some kind of neuronal 'problem'( as asperger it can be considered one, maybe). that for genetic causes the neurons don't develop vvell, and may cause some physical imperfections or problems (but any of big importance). for e*ample being tendency to being a little chubby, not having correct tooth positions, some esqueletical or vveird 'imperfections' on the face mainly, some more ...
and i vva curious vvhy that happen so much in the aperger case, .. (?)

thnks,

Little imperfections happen to people of all sorts, not just us. There is no perfect human specimen, because we all have a physical or cognitive weakness in some area. Are you also referring to a physical disability such as blindness?

Lets see....I am chubby and short ...and I have weird feet because I walk on my toes...(unless I walk on my toes because I have weird feet)

...But I am not exactly malformed....

My body might have developed the way it did possibly due to constant stress and the inability to process it contributing to a perpetual excess of cortisol...(stress= belly fat) I became overweight as a child and there seemed to be several contributing factors going on at once...I was more sedentary than the average kid because of my foot problems and motor coordination problems...and I was prone to dealing with my problems by eating...food became a fixation/source of happiness..while my home/school/life/self esteem were completely dismal. Eating was a form of stimming...sorta...

As far as my feet....

Due to years of walking on my toes, I have really good arches and dexterous almost prehensile toes and the ablility to go on pointe like a ballerina...but without shoes, I hobble around like an old lady, and i am very prone to twisting my ankles.

My arms are kinda babyish in the way I am constantly constantly fidgeting and in the way my fingers and hands curl up...

i guess I can sorta attribute those physical "differences" to my neuro-differences...but it won't be the same for everyone..

I've heard that, too, and know some Aspies where that's the case. Stomach problems, especially, seem to be related to both ASD and AS. Fortunately, my son has always been very physically healthy and has never had much in the way of problems. The only thing he had was asthma with colds when he was little, but he outgrew that by about age five.

Stomach problems? Oh. My brother and I both have AS, and were both lactose intolerant when we were little. We out grew it. Also, I have an extreme adverse reaction to sea food.

I never thought that my irritable hostile cranky evil bowels might have anything to do with the fact that I am (someplace) on the spectrum....but i found out that it is common.

I was perfectly healthy as a child, when I was displayed strong autistic traits. But then I developed lots of stomach issues when I was a teen and had less strong and fewer autistic symptoms. The irony is huge. It seems to be the other way around for many other autistic people. I hate how I must be careful about what I eat. I don't even know what exactly I can eat and what not.

I'm small (ALWAYS been), but I'm not premature. I'm pretty skinny, but not dangerously. I have tons of allergies, but its basically different types of grasses, trees, weeds, pollen, molds. I probably have a touch of asthma and had an asthmetic cough for six years (which made me so skinny you could see my bones which probably explains why I am now). I have glasses and had braces for about two years. Other than all that, I'm pretty healthy. Although I think I have too slow reactions to things (concious ones basically). -Power Girl

my teeth were really crowded, i had to wear a stupid device for a while to move my jaw forward (did not work btw, i had to have surgery a few years ago to fix that) and have braces for 2.5 years before that (and 4 teeth removed) to fix my crowded teeth. this was mainly due to the fact that my brothers had crowding as well. (genetics)
for some weird reason i am the only one out of the family that does not have to wear glasses.
other then that pretty healthy.

oh yeah..that's another thing....

Even though I am left-handed and (according to any right/left dominanace test I take)..right-brained and my Left-eye is my dominant eye (according to any eye dominance test I take), it is also my really-bad-eye I have a severe astigmatism that is only partially corrected with glasses.

I have severe nystigmus (twitching) in my right eye and thus I have to close it if I'm reading. The twitching resulting in strabismus (lazy-eye), that is, the twitching prevents my brain from fusing the data form both of my eyes into a single image and so awareness of the information coming from my right eye is suppressed by the brain in order to prevent double vision.

My son has no visible "physical imperfections" (and it's not just me being a doting mother, many people have commented that he looks cute, charming, like an angel etc) but he has a very sensitive digestive system and seems to get a lot more stomach upsets than most children. Can anyone point me to some good articles or resources on the association between poor digestive health and AS please?

I was born with a gap between my front teeth that was fixed when I was small. I also suffer from various allergies, and from Irritable Bowel Syndrome linked to an oversensitivity to lactose and fructose. Other than that I'm fairly healthy and normal-looking.
