24/7, with every waking moment, I have a thought running through my head, and with that thought, a song. Usually, it's perhaps a line or two, but it just keeps running through my mind over and over, and it brings my mood up or down with it, and the only way to "relieve" that thought is to listen to that song. Sometimes I can play a song all the way through in my head, and maybe bring a certain instrument out, or put one in, or maybe just hear the singer, things like that. But usually it's just that little piece of the song that I can manipulate in my head repeatedly, beecause I simply can't get it outta there. Is this Aspie related in any way?

Sounds like a music obsession.
Most obsessions run though my mind, too.

Obsessive thoughts? I get them all the time (music as well) but I think it might be more OCD related.

I get songs stuck in my head which I have to listen to before I hear another song, but the need isn't urgent. It only needs to be done before I switch another song on. And it's not really obsessive for me. Just something like a loop I get stuck in.

Sounds like an earworm. NTs get them, too. Probably not AS-related.

yeah..they can go on for days...;) I tend to 'segue' out of them; think of a song with close to the same beat or chord structure, then Bob's yer uncle...;)

Yes.

And certain activities will spur certain songs to start playing in my head. The theme song from Flipper, (the TV series from the 60s) would start playing in my head, in great detail,as though I were actually listening to it, every time I went out back to hang out the laundry. Probably something from my childhood would spark a certain memory, not sure.

Great, now I have the song HELP in my head.

HELP I need somebody
HELP not just any body
HELP you know I need someone so HEEEeeeeLLlllpppp....

:P
