How many of you have something stuck on your mind for a long time?

I find that if somebody points out a "Mistake" that I've made, I dwell on it, for a very long time.

My father's death, not about why he died, but about what he looked like when I found him. He smelled so bad and he was so white and cold. The way he was laying on the floor, creepy!

Dead bodies are something else in real life.

All depends upon the THING.

I have sometimes considered making a purchase of something like a camera or a computer for a couple of years before I actually do it. I have also dwelt upon things that happened 15, 20 or 30 years ago and I still haven't resolved issues related to them.

But other times I forget things so quickly that many people are shocked that I can't even remember that I was involved in the particular project.

Mistakes tend to eat at me longer than successes.

I guess I remember the things I pay attention to. It's just that I only pay attention to thing that are important to me. And what is important to me rarely is what is important to anyone else.

I was kicked out of College Feb. 2005 5 years later and I STILL think of it EVERY SECOND OF EVERY DAY!! !! (I did get one day of peace) When I had a surgery (in turn all the drugs) For once I WASN'T THINKING OF THE COLLEGE ISSUE!! ! (Of course I don't want to become a drug addict LOL! I'll deal with the emotional pain/trauma as I see it. Glad to know I'm not the only one that does this though YA!

Ho-ly crap! Of course you have trouble putting that one behind you! That must have been so shocking... I for one think that it makes perfect sense to have trouble forgetting that aspect of the situation, of course it does! To think, I have trouble forgetting stuff I see on tv or traffic incidents, and that's comparatively trivial. I don't envy that experience one bit.

I do it a lot... I get these ideas of projects to start, and think about them/talk about them for months sometimes... If I'm talking and can't think of a word I'm trying to say, I will think about it all day/night long. If I hear something funny, I will talk about it for the rest of the day.

It always depends on what it is, of course, but it always seems there is something stuck in my mind, set to play on loop, until I can do whatever it is with the information that I'm needing to do... then the next one gets stuck.

there's always something on my mind that i go through over and over again. despite winding myself up by over thinking and analysing, i kind of need to have things to mull over otherwise i feel lost and anxious.

Things that get stuck on my mind for a long time are:
songs (it's been horrible recently)
some words (single words)
ideas
fears
in childhood - commercials.
