About what percentage of your friends/aquaitences/ teachers/whatever, do you think are somewhere on the autism spectrum? They don't have to be diagnosed, or even aware that they have some autistic/aspie traits, you just have to think that they do.

Only a very small minority of my minor acquaintances, and none of my close friends.

Either 0% or 100% percent. What percent of 0 is 0?

I hang with some odd people, but I think they'd all classify as NT.

I'd presume people are taking the number of friends who have AS and dividing it by the total number of friends, but we can't divide by zero in any case.

Technically it is undefined. Zero divided by anything but zero is infinate.

Zero divided by zero is undefined. Zero divided by anything but zero is equal to zero. If you divide nothing into two pieces you get nothing.

Unless you made your friends in a class for students with special needs or attend conferences or other events for people on the autism spectrum, you are unlikely to meet more than a handful of people with autistic spectrum disorders. If your grade back in elementary school had, say, 200 students in it, you may have been the only aspie.

Actually, finding out that I may be on the spectrum has inadvertently led one of my friends to seeing the symptoms in himself (in some ways his, if he has it, would be more "obvious" than mine though I seem to match more of the diagnostic creiteria--that was an interesting conversation). Except for that, none of my other friends seem to be on the spectrum.

Probably less than 1%. I know a couple of people outside of my family that I suspect might be HFA or AS, but I don't socialize with them and even if I did, it would be rude of me to ask.

I know a few people who are posting here on WP who don't have AS and know they don't have it, but they love to harass. They're my former teacher and some others...
