Uh...yeah...I have some weird interests - some bordering on morbid even - and I don't usually talk about them, because they border on morbid and people don't usually get it.

Basically things to to with abnormal psychology on a very amateur level (I'm not a psychologist, nor do I aspire to be) peak my interest. :D

Well now, Harry Potter isn't that bad when you consider it does reach across so many demographics. Now if you were into Hello Kitty, that would be a bit different.

But I often erase my Web history so people don't see my interests in motor oil compositions, tires treads, populations, and stuff.
Try bringing THAT stuff up at a party.

Well, some cartoons are made specially for adults or at least teens not for children, like South Park - not only because of swear words but because there are many allusions to popculture, political events, people famous for this or that reason - a child won't get many of them. "Adult" cartoons like "Fritz the cat" were also prepared for those who are at least 18 :D

I don't usually tell anyone about my interests, other than talking about my pets.

I'm embarrassed that I don't have many other interests other than video games.

Being into guns and weaponry hasn't made me too many friends here in Seattle. I get a little annoyed at the presumption that since I'm into these things, I must be some sort of redneck/fundamentalist/ignorant person. I've found that a lot of people just write me off when they find out I'm into guns, ironically enough they tend to be the types who preach tolerance and inclusion. That being said, I don't hold back about what I'm into, if someone is so horrified by the sight of a firearm that they don't want to get to know me, I don't need to know them.

Not really. I mean, we all have our quirks.

Not sure about 'embarassed' but I don't really share my muscial interestes with a lot of people. I am mainly into game and anime music. I love movie OSTs and classical. some songs are so old some people go ' that song is so yesterday'

I say 'so?' just because a song is old or sung by a unknown dosn't mean I should not like it. Teens specially don't like popular music because they actually like it, it's just to be in the crowed, once the song goes out of style they will say 'I don't like that song' why? you just liked it not long ago!

I feel that I save the trouble by not sharing the music I like, many people where I live only seem to like a song for a short period of time and then discard it. They don't have any appreciation.

I don't know that I'd say that I'm embarrassed about my special interests as much as I'm embarrassed about the amount of time that I devote to them. I spend anywhere from 1-3 hours a day reading about my special interests, which doesn't seem like much for some people, beings how it's the only time I'm sitting, and relaxed, but it is a lot of time when you're taking care of a house, and 2 ASD kids. It's honestly time that I don't have to be spending. I always feel so guilty about my apparent lack of self control, and time management skills when it comes to this subject.
