Does anyone else put blankets over their head? I have done that since I was a kid...I also always HAVE to have a blanket to get to sleep at night!

I do this too. Also since I was a child, I remember doing it at 2-3 years already.

I can't fall asleep otherwise. I need the blanket over my head.

I never heard of someone else doing it too until just now. That's cool that I'm not the only one doing this.

I'm not sure if this is what you mean, but I have always had to sleep write under the cover, including my head.
I have just gotten back from the caribbean where it was extremely hot but I still had to have a thin duvet to sleep under.

I love how I learn from you guys!! !

I have a 20-month old baby that does this. He was just diagnosed (on the spectrum somewhere) 2 days ago. Big Brother has Asperger's, but never did this with the blanket.

Very interesting.

I used to do it as a child, when kids scared the crap out of me telling stories in 3rd grade about Bloody Mary. Every night, I would turn on my nightlight and/or open the door a crack, look around the room for a while to make sure nothing was there, and then cover my entire body and try to sleep.

Eventually I grew out of it, I don't do it anymore.

I sleep with blankets over my head, to keep the nightmares from coming in, and it works.

I did it because I thought there were ghosts or aliens and I was safe if I put my head under the covers. Now it's just a comfort thing, I guess?

RockyMtnAspieMom, I'm not diagnosed with Aspergers yet...but I thought maybe this was a sign or something.

Yeah =/ Every once in a great while, if I get a little carried away with sharing ghost stories, I'll do it...but generally, I'm good with a nightlight (which I honestly still need to this day).

My 6 month old does this. My 10 y/o with AS has alaways done this. I can't stand the suffocating feel and heat from respiration.

It does seem comforting for him..and like I said , he is only 20 months old. Could NOT be afraid of ghosts yet! Also, above, there is a 6-month-old doing it.

Hmm. Once agin...very interesting!

Never. I can't stand breathing "used" air, my own or someone else's. (yep, can't sleep facing someone either.)
