I don't have any 'real' fears, they all come from my own fantasies.

I have a fear of needles and sharp pointy things and things that sting you (however, not knives for some reason... I mean stinging nettles  )...

As in, I get so scared and pass out BEFORE I even see the needle when I have to go for a blood test! I've fainted, been sick, shaken so much my legs collapsed and also screamed... all in the line for the Meningitus/TB jab at school!

As a result, I didn't have to have it, and I'm excused from having injections/boosters UNLESS I am in hospital and it could save my life (not that I care at the moment, however)...

I don't feel fear, but that's because I have a dissociative disorder.

I am terrified of thunderstorms and fireworks and anything else that would subject me to ongoing loud and sudden noises.

My phobia of storms (it was literally a phobia at the time) was so bad as a little kid that I was, by association, terrified of the weather forecast on the radio/TV. If it came on, I'd run to my room and hide under my bed with my hands over my ears, just in case there was any mention of a thunderstorm.

My other fear (also clinically a phobia when I was younger) is of throwing up. The clinical name for that fear is emetophobia. I used to be so afraid of being sick that I would refuse to leave the house and I was ultra-obsessive about 'use by' dates. I was always taking stomach medicine at even the slightest twinge of discomfort, and because I have trouble with interpreting my own feelings, I would often confuse hunger/indigestion/cramps/nervousness/excitement etc for nausea and freak out even if nothing was wrong.

There are other things that I'm afraid of, but those are the main (life-impacting) ones.

I have many fears, most of them rational. For example, I can't stand those big hairy tarantulas. Any kind of large insect or crustacean-type animal, I just go mental. I remember a time in grade school where we had this insect guy come in with all his friends. A big flying bug was allowed to flutter around. That terrified me to that point where I had to run out of the room. Golly gee.

I have a (probably abnormal) love for thunderstorms. I love it when a huge dangerous storm comes. I think it makes me feel alive. I had to force myself to go inside when a tornado went within 300 yards of me. I wanted to stay outside and watch it. :D It was a class 1 tornado.

I fear things but only when I don't see them.
If I see a bee it can do what it wants. If its unexpected and flies by me I freak.
Give me a big long needle any day, I can't stand the small push activated pricks.
Used to have a fear of tornados. Which is kinda dumb when none have been where I was. I would say 8 of 10 nightmares focused on them.

I hate the idea of getting a papercut on my eye. I wear glasses, so that's even less likely than usual.
Recently I've acquired a fear of getting poisoned with drain cleaner or similar stuff. That would be horrific, but also not very likely lol.
When I was in elementary school I had a bad fear of heights, and a lot of nightmares about it. Falling off balance beams, piloting an airplane, falling a long distance into a pool of boiling water, and more...

Ahhh, your avatar.... I haven't seen that picture in a while. It has rekindled my love of Lain. I fear losing Lain.

Like Isthisreal, I love storms, especially strong winds and thunderstorms - I have failed an exam, and done badly in another because I couldn't bear to stay inside during a thunderstorm. I've had a few close calls with lightning strikes.

A lot of things panic me - I act irrationally, get short of breath, my heart races, I get cold sweats and sometimes just unexpectedly pass out, but I never feel afraid, just unusual and unsettled. I'm hilarious if I'm swimming and get tangled in seaweed - I scream and scream, and have to get out of the water and stay out, but I kinda have fun with the whole thing despite the full-blown uncontrollable panic.

Of course I get stressed easily, sometimes this is hard to distinguish from panic, but I'm quite sure stress isn't fear.

Heights, spiders, pain, etc seem exciting, not scary.. and tarantulas are fantastically soft, like kittens!

So, me too, Darkscorpion, I don't have any particular fears :)

I have a fairly good case of emetophobia myself. I tend to get bloating and stomach cramps before I get my period, and I get very scared that I might throw up even though I don't feel nauseous. I nearly went into hysteria when my mom and brother had the stomach flu earlier this year. Also, every time my niece or nephew wake up crying at night, I get scared that it's because they've thrown up. When I was younger, I was so afraid of throwing up that my mom had to tell me every night when she tucked me into bed that I would not get sick.

My other fear is choking, due to several incidents in my childhood. People absolutely cannot eat any kind of hard candy around me, and mints are barely tolerable. It took a lot of courage for me to learn to swallow pills. A couple of weeks ago, my nephew choked while eating dinner. I shrieked, covered my ears, and dove behind the couch. We even had company over!

Ohmagosh, when I was younger I was horrified of being poisoned! I remember completely going into hysteria when they showed a video about poison in school. Ever since then, they always took me out of class to sit in the hallway whenever they talked about poison. I was especially afraid of the cleaning powder Comet; my mom had to set the container on top of the fridge instead of by the sink because I was scared of accidentally touching it when I went to wash my hands. I also got scared recently when I saw an episode of CSI: Miami when a woman had radiation poisoning from having pure radiation injected into her orange juice. After that, I was scared for a few hours before I went to sleep that someone would try to poison my drinks.
