Disgruntled and terribly bored Aspie hacker, anyone?

What does it mean? Is the site severely affected or is there nothing more to it than the guy's name showing up at the top of the screen?

It appears as though we're still able to post. But as for the total effect, you'd have to ask a mod.

It's a cry for help... the poor chap is probably so overwhelmed by the US forces bombing his country that he decided to take it out on extremist right-wing propaganda-filled US websites like this one.

dunno, but it's trojan frenzy here, and i never usually get them. the ads on the left have me in fits, though - talk about pick up info from the page.

The offensive image link on the trolling techniques link from that link you just poted is probably just about the most disturbing image i have ever seen on the internet and i have seen some rather disturbing images before.

Once he's in, he can do anything. We're lucky he just wrote his name. Is there a firewall ? Is the site backed-up regularly ? If the hacker had destroy all of it, how much time would it take to be online again ? What about the content ? Does the site is hosted on a big shared infrastructure or on a little lonely server with private (yet static IP) Internet access ? All good question for security but, we have to agree that as soon as you're on the net, you're vulnarable. The ultimate firewall is a pair of wire-cutter !

Can he or she give us a virus or a trojan when he or she hacks in and does this.

From what I know (which is little) this is just basically a defacement. No such real harm can be done. As long as a backup of the site is somewhere. But it could be even something simpler then that. I wouldnt consider it a hack.
