I used to visualize more as a kid. Since then, I haven't been much of a visualizer; I'm more of a verbal thinker these days. However, last night I was giving the visualization a go. I visualized a cube with contrasting colors on opposite faces. Originally, red was facing me and blue was on top. I forgot to make left and right face colors, so those faces didn't exist. I then tried rotating and visualizing the cube instead of relying on rote memory to remember which color belonged to which face. I then added a bouncy ball moving through the hollowed cube. I believe, if I practice mental exercises like these, my visuospatial reasoning skills can improve. My verbal intelligence doesn't need the same kind of practice.

It actually did feel kind of funny. It felt almost like blood was starting to flow to a different part of my head, creating a slight tingling sensation. I would say I felt this towards the top of my head just slightly left of center and somewhat towards the back side of the head.

Strangely for an Aspie (?), I'm actually quite good at visualspatial stuff and only slightly better than average for verbal intelligence. So, in my case I shall go off to do some word puzzles.

I have a similar sensation of rushing blood when I try to do maths (I'm really rubbish with maths), but if I try it for too long I actually have pain within my head. Very different to a general headache and very localised.
Stop thinking and the pain goes away. Calculators as a form of pain relief?
