Anyway I'm on a little mission to get this on Oprah, since she's done some incredibly negative and damaging shows on Autism recently. Like her or hate her, her show reaches over 10 million people and she's done a lot to spread the negative image of us. Just last week the Jenny McCarthy episode reaired, and the next day in a book store I heard a bunch of people asking for Jenny's book. The show has impact.

I think if Oprah could see the above video, which plays a speech from Martin Luther King and compares us to the Black Civil Rights, perhaps she'd be moved to do something a little more positive. I'm pushing for people like Temple Grandin and Daniel Tammet to go on the show.

I've started a thread at her forum http://www.oprah.com/community/thread/63428 asking for such a show, and if any of you could get on board and join the petition perhaps we could get the ball rolling to change our image. Your help would be appreciated!!

Thanks to the people who responded to this, let's see if we can get some more support going for the Autism Acceptance Project. Come on guys, we do so much complaining on this site about how we are treated, this is a chance for millions of people to hear us!!

I still say we need to gather together, pool our strengths, and drive the neurotypicals to extinction. I'm a million years past caring what a bunch of irrational idiots with a misplaced faith in their own normality want to think nor say about me and my kind. Nature will prove them weak, with time.

In the meantime, this is not about caring what the NTs think of us but rather stopping the negative bull***t Oprah has been spreading about us on her show. She only shows autism as something that turns normal children into rocking ret*ds, and I want her to see US - the people on this site who are proud of autism. When do we ever see that in the media?? I've never seen autism portrayed positively except for in the You Tube videos (see the one I posted above). We could tell a lot of people our story and maybe get treated a little better if everyone knew what Aspergers was.

That will only influence the weak-willed.
We do not need to change the minds of the weak-willed, as they are just as easily changed back. It is a pointless effort as their flimsy minds cannot be held... and they go through causes like a hot knife through butter.

The only reason you would try to advocate such a thing is if you were in any way concerned about public opinion of us.
And personally, I'm not.

They can hate us or think of us as ret*d for all I care, as they're only doing it to mask their own inadequacies.
LET them underestimate us.
By the time they come to regret it.... it will be too late. They lack the obsessive drive to succeed. They will give up long before we ever do, and the war of attrition will be ours.

When that day comes, you and I can rule them as King and Queen SotiCoto. I'm thinking letting a few of them live, because we might need slaves to build our new society.

Well I am concerned about public opinion of us, because the more we are accepted the more we can take over. Let's vote an Aspie as President, that's step one.

Fact is... I'm an anarchist at heart. Even if we did take over, I'd just subdivide and find someone else to wage war on.
