I'm interested in opinions here.

I'm trying to figure out what I can make work without selling porn or that stupid crap.

I am 23 years old and live in New Zealand.

I am a devoted nintendo gamer.

I would like to eventually be a spokesprson for aspergers.

I love animals.

What would make you people want to visit my site?

If you have ideas about internet marketing/advertising PM me and we'll talk on MSN.

I love this idea.

I would love to be a spokeperson, too, but I agree, we are a hard bunch to sell crap to! :-)

Hmmm- I think I would be drawn to your site knwoing that you have this and you are not a researcher or someone trying to get in on something.

That in itself would do it for me, and then I would browse around.

Stuff that would connects us would be important to me, too. It feels like I am so unconnected at times.

I will let you now if I think of anymore. Good luck, too!

Hmmm... visually, I know I would prefer to see it as bland as possible, since most aspies have one sensory issue or another.

As far as getting people to it... you have to have some sort of word-of-mouth. It still is the best advertising, even in the internet age. Though by word of mouth, a link on personal blogs and such would suffice.

* a subject i have an interest in
* clean, un-cluttered design
* regular content updates
* a nice colour scheme

blogs are pretty good way to get started and attract a small army of followers if you starting fresh. i follow a number of blogs written by people i "know" cause i enjoy reading their commentary on whatever

good luck!

Are you looking to make money from site content itself (through advertising) or are you looking at selling a service/product?

Visually simple, please. No moving or flashing objects. No Flash (I figure if it doesn't come on my Mac it's irrelevant). And simple enough to load fairly quickly over a phone line.

Content: No idea. What do you care about? Put your heart into it.

Make sure that nothing requires:
Javascript
Java applets.
Cookie acceptance.
Flash (can't stress this one enough - I absolutely hate sites that utilize Flash).

Web animations generally repel me. I use a browser that doesn't load them, but if I'm on a public internet machine, I get really P-offed when I see things moving around on the screen.

A script that crashes the Internet.

For the lulz.

No, honestly I don't give a toss.
I can't really force myself to go to particular sites except on complete whimsy. I don't really go anywhere online unless I'm looking something up any more. The only personal sites I look through are Japanese ones, for the sake of admiring their artistic abilities.... Everything just feels like it has been done.

My own website went through numerous iterations where I basically just tried to make it as freakishly unusual and pointless as I could.... and eventually just settled for pointless minimalism.
