Anybody ever do neurofeedback and do you find it helpful?

I recieved neurofeedback treatments about three years ago to help treat my social anxiety. It has helped me because before I couldn't do things like asking my teacher for help even if I really needed it, saying hi to someone I knew walking down the hallway, answering a question in class etc. With neurofeedback I now can do those things with less anxiety.

But just because it worked for me doesn't mean that everyone will have the same results. It depends on what you are using it for.

I got these CDs from someone who does neurofeedback in Princeton, and he says they have the same effect. He also suggests that meditation, done properly, can have the same effect, so I do those and they are helpful to me, a lot!

At the very least, if any members of this site try it, we could report back with our experience. On the Drake Institute site it says that their Asperger's patients have increased greatly since 2004, which just happens to be around the time when this site started (and they're advertised here), so I'm guessing that people on this site have tried it.

Also, I happen to know someone who was very much involved in the development of neurofeedback (not at Drake, but they know him there) and he is a really standup, compassionate, extremely bright, and (most importantly) funny person, so, whether it is helpful or not for our condition I don't know, but I believe that it is a very sincere contribution and is headed in the right direction for providing something useful.
