Wrong Planet - Autism = Good

On the front page of Wrong Planet there is the following statement:
Wrong Planet - Autism = Good. What does that mean? This online community or any community would be Good without Autism? Please clarify this for all of us. Seems like an odd thing to post.

Oh, I see it. It's at the top of the window, not directly on the page.
Never noticed it before, and am now myself wondering what it means.

Giggle.

The hyphen isn't meaning to subtract. It is just separating the title from the catchphrase "Autism = Good".

Or, no, wait, Autism Speaks has already brainwashed Alex.

I guess that it means that WP is a good place to come and learn about ASDs, first hand, from those of us, who are on the spectrum.

I think it's meant to be a contrast against all the doom and gloom 'oh noes autism is terrible! those poor mute and silent people must be cured now so we can have a better society' stuff out there.

I am glad it says autism is good. There are enough sites out there that say autism is bad. Wrong planet is a refuge for those of us who are autistic by being one of the few places that shows the both the good and the bad sides of the disorder.

I think I see what's wrong with this...it's the punctuation. When I first saw that thread title, it threw me off too because I took the "-" to mean a minus.

One of two things would fix it: using an em-dash to make it VERY clear it's not a minus (clickable link here), or change it to look like this...

"Wrong Planet: Autism = Good"

Either way will cut out any ambiguity as to the intended message.

yeah autism and other AS/disorders can be good maybe autism si not but havin aspergrs is almost a suprpower in someways becuz it makes yu alot more imaginative than othrs i doint believe my rap music would be were it is today without my AS
