I did the "fight back" method per my dad for a while, and that did help to a point, but I got sick of being sent home and after 2 missing teeth, one broken nose, and two borken arms (not to mention two expulsions and countless suspensions) my mom decided to try her way. She tried the changing school thing, (14 elementary schools) eventually what worked was my mom putting her foot down with the principal and making it his problem. The first time a teacher blew me off when I said someone was picking on me, my mom called the principal and he at said the old "kids should work try out themselves" routine. My mom sat in the office of the school superintendant until he made time for her, and chewed into him for about an hour, he then called my principal, and so on. That guy was scared to ignore me after that. (he didn't want to have to talk to my mom again, lol)
Get your parents actively involved. My mom threatened to go the newspapers and school board about her little tiny daughter who had autisism getting picked on by upper classmen. (apparently being small and female as well as autistic made them look worse I guess?)

I hate hearing, "you don't seem autistic/aspie". I have a nagging suspicion most people have no idea what autistic or aspie "seem" like in the first place...
