The 'glass wall' analogy as an autistic experience

Yes, I always feel that I am watching everyone else from within my own little bubble. The thing is, I don't want anyone to be able to see in, unless I choose to allow it.
I want to be invisible, to be free to go where I want and observe what I want without anyone else knowing I am there.
That way they won't look at me & think "who is that weird person hanging around staring at me?"
Then when I do want to interact with others, I would just open a window in my barrier to talk to them, and close it again when I am done.
I suppose, because I feel this way inside, I tend to act "as if" it were true, so other people often complain I ignore them & don't talk to them.
