Good Autism groups

I know Autism Speaks is horrible. But I haven't seen posts about Autism groups that people would actually give money too. Does anyone know any? Because I'd be interested in getting involved with them. I know I'm in the realm of autism because I have extreme ADD, which is considered a slight form of autism. Also my brother has AS and I've been researching it and I think I might have it too, but I've never been properly diagnosed. I'm pretty sure it's either that or I am HFA.

Another one in my area is The Autism Education Center. http://www.autismeducationcenter.net The lady who is putting the center together is a college graduate who is also a nurse. She has 4 children who are at various places on the spectrum. She wants to do so much to help people like us.

The Kelberman Center for Autism is another EXCELLENT facility for children and adults with Autism and Autism Spectrum Disorders. They provide a preschool program, an educational program for older kids called, "Trade Winds," speech therapy,
physical therapy, occupational therapy, counseling services and also, residential housing for children and adults. Recently, the
Kelberman Center for Autism started an "Awesome Summer Camp Program for kids ages 6-14 years old...and summer employment opportunities for their young adults. In addition, there are support groups for young adults ages 15 and older and a support group for parents as well.

In the month of April, 2008, the Kelberman Center for Autism held a telethon and raised over $12,000. to fund their present
programs...and with further money, they hope to add additional services as the need arises.

I give to my local Autism Society. They do mini-grants for families and businesses each year. For families, the grants have to go towards safety equipment. For businesses, I think it's for both safety equipment and training.
