Spent hours when I was in my teens rehearsing gestures and expressions. Still find sometimes that I don't transition them well and end up with a train wreck.

I smile a lot now and think my facial expressions are good. I used to practice in the mirror. I was told I have a very nice smile....so that was it, the smiling commenced.

When I look at photos of myself as a child I never had a smile. As I got older I started to get ppl telling me to cheer up it may never happen, and I used to think wtf I'm quite happy thx. Then came the smiling practice. I read a book about Marilyn Monroe and how she would practice her smile not showing too much gum etc so I did the same :) :D

I remember when I was about 4 or 5 years old, I carried a pocket mirror around with me. I don't know why, but I just picked it up and looked at my face every once in a while. I did this for 2 or 3 years. I quit because I felt kinda weird doing it in school and everyone was making jokes about it and laughing.

I also made faces if someone was taking a photo of me.. pulling my nose and ears and rolling my eyes..

All the time! I love the way faces work : )
Also I've been told I just make weird expressions in general.

Used to do it when I had the chance to go outside more. A lot of the time I spent making faces though was just to laugh at myself.

I practice smiling alot, I read somewhere that smiling attracts peple to you, but sometimes it gets really hard, if I'm tired my face falls into its natural expression which lots of people think is angry/ sad. I've learned how to keep my lips parted as much as possible & have to concentrate on keep my brow smooth.

Often people tell me that they thought I disliked them when I met them, becuz of my expression, they would ask my brothers why I was glaring at them etc. & my brothers would just say, "oh thats how she always looks"

I do because I don't normally make enough facial expressions, or when I do I make the wrong ones, so my face can look kind of awkward and make people uncomfortable. So, I practice different expressions for different situations, memorize the way they look on my face, and kind of force them on my face to match the mood I'm in. The more I do this, the more natural the expressions become though. Mainly this problem is with my forehead, like I don't always frown when I'm mad or sad, so it makes my face look blank even if I'm yelling, which kind of makes me look like a psycho. o_0

I did to get laughing right. Nobody saw it, so I thought it was a pretty clever strategy to produce the ability of an automatic big good and sweet laugh. I succeeded.

It's the only way to get an idea of how my face looks like when I do an expression. I cannot imagine what my face looks like when I do something an expression.

I didn't know that my fleeting untrue smiles were that bad before I produced that face in front of the mirror. And, wow, it looks more like a grimace than a smile. That much about false smiles for mean people.
