I get all paranoid or scared, freaked out, it can lead me to shut down.

If someone told me at work if I take anymore things literal or I would get written up, I would freak out because there is no way I can stop doing it. I don't even know when I am being literal so there is no way I can turn it off just like that.

On a movie forum where people post movies for everyone to watch, I posted some movies there and I did a search first to make sure they haven't been already posted and I came up with no results so I posted them. But three of them got deleted because they were posted on the other boards. I just didn't know they had different categories. Well I got told anymore duplicate posts, I get a warning on my profile. I freaked out and decided maybe I shouldn't post anymore movies on the forum because maybe they didn't show up in my search function and they really have been posted already. Then I decided maybe search all the boards first for a certain movie I want to post. I would hate to get banned from that forum.

Oh yeah and at I2 when someone told me if I don't answer her question, she will assume I posted a story so I can get teased and all. I freaked out and answered "don't know" because I didn't understand her question. But she got mad anyway and turned into a b***h and that's how the drama started.

I just don't take threats very well. Does anyone else not take them well either? How do they effect you?

I don't like threats either. The effect for me is I generally get a desire to lay waste to the landscape and people involved. But of course acting on such emotions is frowned upon. I need to check in at I2, I have not been there for a while.

I don't do well with threats either. They are crushing for me. Most of the time, I live my life on eggshells, afraid I will say something to anger someone. Retaliation is one of my greatest fears.

If someone told me I say something stupid again or if I say something wrong again or inappropriate or 'this' will happen I don't talk to them ever again.

Velodog about the drama, that happened in June 2007 so it's buried in the forum.

I don't take threats at all. My perception on them is that if you haven't carried out the threat then I don't have to worry about it, and when you do carry it out its done and I don't need to do what they want. In other words I perceive threats as being irrelevant.

Who DOES take threats well? The whole point of threats is to scare you into doing something, which is never pleasant. I think it's perfectly reasonable to feel anxious under those circumstances.

I don't take threats especially from people on the internet seriously, one of the nice things about the anonymity of the internet. sure there are some crazie's out there willing to travel to another city to carry out their deeds, in most cases its just talk.

If somebody threatens me; I hurt them. They threaten to beat me up, I kick their ass. They threaten to kill me, well... use your imagination. I really, really don't take threats well.

^ Same here. I don't take threats seriously unless it's a threat on my life or my safety. Unless it's on the internet from some random loser with no life...

How can you guys not take threats seriously? You would like to lose a friend or get banned from a forum? What about losing your job too? What if you were threatened about those?

If your job gets threatened the best course of action is to determine if you can win. If you can't win then make sure the person who wants to get you fired loses BIG TIME as well. As far as handling yourself on the internet, I've read your callouts @ I2 and you have handled them well.

Thank you. But the first drama I could have handled it differently by doing the callout in the first place with her instead of coming here in The Haven and telling about my problem asking if it make me a coward to leave the forum and making things worse between me and the forum.
I learned my mistake the hard way. I eventually created the thread by making a timeline in it which took me four hours to do and ended the problem. There were never any apologies between us, oh well.
