http://www.k12academics.com/asperger_ch ... istics.htm

"Those affected by Asperger's may also manifest a range of other sensory, developmental, and physiological anomalies. It is common (but there are exceptions) for children with Asperger's to evidence a marked delay in the development of fine motor skills. Some may display a distinctive waddling or mincing gait when they walk and may walk with their arms held out in an unusual manner. "

Ok, so they say that aspies tend to walk differently, and ive always wondered why i did it. This is related to motor coordination, basically not good. Sometimes i feel like im missing a step, and it feels like i dont really bend my knees as much as i should. Sometimes takes a bit of effort not to wobble left and right.

But

On the other hand, i absolutely love running around, climbing stuff, jumping around. I even jump around at work, and not just little girly jumps either, big jumps. Ive been there for a year and ive never fallen. I climb mountains that i find and run around in the woods for fun, and i never even slipped or fall, even when its pouring outside.

So does anyone else like to jump?

Actually I never thought about this before, but yes i like to jump. People always comment on how high I can jump. Of course, that's only because I'm white, if I was black, nobody would care :D

wow

I never read anything about this, but sure enough I tend to sway a little bit when I walk. Have to correct left/right every now and then. Climbing and jumping I truly enjoy. Often can't resist getting on an object I feel I can climb. Always jump over stuff like benches that get in my way, the high table at home, etc. Don't carry around a measuring cord, but they're not "girly" jumps.

Why walk down a stairs when you can jump down?

Excellent find, keep replies coming? :)

Two occasions when people told me I needed to bend my knees during some activity.

1) - School play. I was the first character on stage in a Biblical story - a farmer scattering seed in his fields. I was told I had a very stiff-legged gait.

2) - Cut to 25 years later, at a tennis club and I'm about to serve. A older female club member watching from behind, pipes up "<MemberSix>, bend your knees !"

I found it bloody annoying both times - not least because they were right.

GRRR !

When I was a kid I broke or bent several beds by jumping on them. I enjoy jumping on the trampoline now. My mom once told me I was very "pouncy".
