I am curious to know how those who do not work live.

A friend with AS that I met offline is on the whole Medicare, Medicaid deal.

Her parents were very well off and left her money which kicked her off Medicaid. She still has Medicare. Another disabled friend who is Not AS ( dialysis) is on Medicaid.

They both have income limits which means they cannot work. Neither are allowed to marry. If they do they lose their health care. THe one can keep her house, the other can't!! ! One has food stamps, the other does not. Neither can have more than some pittance of earned income. One can keep inheritance, the other cannot.

I am possibilty about to be thrown into this mix and am wondering how you survive being held hostage by the gov't for health care . I would give up the money but not the health care.

I made a similar post to someone but want to know how you actually live. I mean $800 a month seems like not very much. Rent is $828! And health care premiums are $325. That leaves no amount for food or TP or anyhthing else.

Are you dependent all the time? I am about to move to another country to get away from possibily having to sacrifice myh entire livlihood, romatic life, and housing for health care! Only in USA>.................
