Some of you may have already seen this commercial on television about donations to the ASPCA. But this sounds like a great cause to help abused animals. It's $18 dollars a month or 60 cents a day. I called last night finally.

I couldn't stand it any longer. It was eating away at me. So I called.

animals get better treatment than most humans (cats&dogs) do. i dont like dogs or cats. i do however like elk, reindeer, deer, polar bear, grizzly bears, weasels, squirrls etc.

Elk,it isn't true,although I guess it depends on each society and country.
There are a lot more laws to protect humans than animals.
Pet food contains parts which wouldn't be sold as human food.
In certain countries,they will throw live fish into wok fulls of boiling fat,they will skin live animals,they give chickens a very slow death by making them bleed to death,in markets they keep animals squashed together in cramped cages.....
In the UK,a person can only be jailed for a maximum of 6 months for cruelty against animals,most attackers do not get jailed,they usually get banned from keeping animals for a few years,those who do get jailed usually do so for a matter of days rather than months.

Just look at any of the meat packing plants or at various circuses for overwhelming evidence of animal abuse.

I looked on the ASPCA's site and was going through their pets which are up for adoption. There was one cat who had bee bees embedded in her side. They didn't remove them because her side was healed over and they didn't seem to be giving her anymore pain.

If this needs to be translated any further, this poor cat was used as TARGET PRACTICE.

Animals are treated horribly by humans by and large. There's only a lucky few who aren't. And even still, most are treated as lower life forms who are unable to suffer or who are "here for our sustanaince".

We humans are often so anthropocentric.
