Hi, I'm new to this wonderful site. I have a question. Recently, an obsession that I hadn't had for at least 4 yeears, came back more strongly than before but for a very short amount of time. It resulted in me making ebay purchases of discountinued products from a company that was bought by Palm, Inc. Now I'm not obsessed anymore. The obsession lasted less than a day....

but it resulted in me buying things

Welcome, alex. It's great to have you on this site and I hope you'll like it here. I think it'll grow on you the more and more you post. Who knows, you may even be a moderator some day!

But yes, I had a similar obsession on eBay with charms for my charm bracelet. And not long after I had filled the whole thing (within a matter of three weeks and a lot of buying on eBay) I really haven't worn it much.

Ah, yes. I know your obsessional fleating pain in the wallet too well. Yes indeed...

A warm welcome to you Alex :)

Ebay is evil....they know what you want. I hear tell they have psychics that work 24/7 reading the minds of us hapless ebayers while we browse the site. So, clear your mind...they know what you need.

My ebay obsessions have been;

catholic medals (I'm not even catholic)
original pen and ink drawings and paintings (under $5.00 - I swear you can find them that cheap)
penny dolls (bisque ones from Japan)
vintage cameras
video games for atari systems

This is all I can think of on the top of my head. Honestly, people like me should stay away from ebay, as I don't even have to leave home to be a compulsive shopper.

I feel a guilty pleasure out of sniping at the last minute and I have good feedback A+++ :P

nuff said.

Alex, I look forward to reading your posts :D

I was spending money on electronic devices and COACH though....

COACH is more expensive than the electronic stuff tho....

I'm assuming this is for humor, but why exactly are you saying you're new? It's not offensive or anything, just kind of too confusing to be funny to me.

I have relapses into MMORPG games for PC, even though I can't stand them due to the social aspects of them.

I also love when I have relapses into LEGO building! :D I have this massive box of all the LEGOs I've ever owned, starting at 4 years old.

Ohhhhh, it's going to be a running gag which becomes funnier with time, then annoying, then funny because it annoys people so much.

Nice to meet you as well. Something you should know about these forums, n00b, is that people here are very literal. And literate, usually, but not always. Sometimes litheaded, and sometimes, that makes them not that literate in their speling so plz forgiv3 th3m. ((I know, I suxxorz.))

I thought it was funny.

I am also the owner/developer of this website! So what I say, goes!

Don't be fooled by that silly Moderator title. It's just for show.

If I recall correctly, I've seen Alex on this site a few times before. I don't really think he's quite as n00b as he says he is.

I still think we should give him some time before we finalize our impressions of him, though. Maybe someday he will contribute quite a bit to this site!

Please don't give the new members a hard time. Everyone needs a break-in period.

Yeah, he's ok.... he took a new experimental Autism cure, and his life made a 360 degree turn for the better.

I have obssessions that can last for a week or so. They normally always mean lots and lots of research and then a decision on one or several purchases. Luckily for me, the obsessions lately have been very very expensive which have forced me to hold off making the purchases... PHEW....
