I think he's just making a joke like I was ;)

Would be cool if someone here got the part, though, or even auditioned. Dunno if we have any budding actors around...I probably don't check the right forums to know.

hey you just never know, give it a shot

Haha, this would be the perfect job besides remembering lines you don't have to do anything. No acting required.

I'm not so sure about that. They might make you walk and talk and hit your marks at the same time. And hit your marks without looking down at the ground to see where they are. (Marks are where you're supposed to end up when you move so that you're in focus.) That takes a wee bit of coordination, and the idea has always made me nervous.

And then there are the clothes and sensory issues. Will they let you wear the same outfit all season?

They might, you never know, seriously... there is a reason they want to cast someone that is under the spectrum

That is so freaking cool. I'm so glad they're getting someone who actually has autism, rather than just having an actor pretend to be autistic.

I assume "Aspergers - Self Diagnosed" wouldn't qualify?

Why do they always want guys? That has to be the biggest autistic sterotype of them all. I will show them when I become a famous veternarian and have my own animal planet series.

I don't know about everyone else, but with my clumsiness, I'm always looking at the ground to make sure my feet are going in the right places.

You can just tell them you're "getting into the role" ;)

Sounds funny. LOL I still won't watch. (I got to OSU college but not the football games don't be offended.) I am not big on team things or whatever classification that stuff goes in.

Well seeing as though it requires a resume...

anyone here had acting experience?

Well it would be easier for them as they wouldn't have to worry about the light being too bright or the noise being to much.

But they probably wouldn't like the media coverage of having a selfdiagnosed aspie.

I've had two auditions for student films. Does that count?

You don't need acting experience for a resume. Indicate any training you have, and any relevant skills, and look hopeful. I think your headshot counts more when you're new. Pay $500 for a really good one and you might be ok.

Nice idea, but I imagine it will be some awesome looking guy that follows an "average" Aspergers man around. Then the actor will do some googling and end up here to observe us
Except at the end of the day he gets to go back to his NT world why the rest of us will power up, grab a cup 'o' joe and hang out on WP
