A few months ago, my wife (who has ADD and anxieties) saw a T shirt that she thought was hilarious: "I do not have ADD!--Hey! Look! A rabbit!"
So, she quotes that every now and then, and it recently led to a discussion about what the rabbit could tell us about different mental traits/disorders/what have you.
So, a group of patients are leaving the shrink's office.
They're all talking, when, suddenly, the manic-depressive sees a rabbit. "Aw, what a cute little bunny!" he says, with a grin. Then he frowns and says, "Bunnies always remind me of the Easter when my grandpa died!" He starts sobbing.
The ADHD guy says, "Hey! Look! A rabbit!"
The Asperger guy says, "Rabbits are small mammals in the family Leporidae of the order Lagomorpha, found in several parts of the world. There are seven different genera in the family classified as rabbits, " he looks around to note that the ADHD guy is no longer there, so he turns to the OCD guy and continues, "including the European rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus), Cottontail rabbit (genus Sylvilagus; 13 species), and the Amami rabbit (Pentalagus furnessi, endangered species on Amami Ōshima, Japan). There are many other species of rabbit, and these, along with pikas and hares, make up the order Lagomorpha. . . . "
The OCD guy says, "Hey, ADD guy! Don't get too close to that rabbit! You'll get rabies or something and die!"
The schizophrenic moves away from everyone else. He does not speak, but ponders that the rabbit is probably carrying one of those transmitters that They put on animals to track their behaviors.
The sociopath remains unmoved by the rabbit. He instead begins screaming at the ADHD guy for not catching it. "I'm sorry," says the ADHD guy. "I noticed these pretty flowers and decided to pick some."
While the sociopath beats up the ADHD guy for picking flowers, the neurotypical gets his gun out of his pickup, shoots the rabbit, and brings it home for dinner.
