Try to avoid all-or-nothing and black and white thinking. That is when some people ask if all aspies like this or do that of of all aspies like a certain type of relationship. That's too black and white. You should realize not ALL people are going to do the thing you're posting about.

Mmkay? Good.

Yep. I think a lot of people in the dating and adult forums could do with this advice.

That is an excellent suggestion.

I agree. We are known for thinking for ourselves, and not conforming to the ways of everybody else. Why should i think the way you want me to think?

In general it is acceptable to say "aspies do this/that" and its implied that there will be outliers to what you are saying. Conversations would get very lengthy very quickly if you had to add a disclaimer to every sentence you made about people
Saying "all aspies do this/that" in general applies that you are insinuating there are not any outliers.

My problem seems to be that I think too much of the endless possibilities and not enough of the black/white that is sometimes necessary - I didn't even like putting check male or female on my master's degree project because I recognized that it would likely be sent to some transgendered/androgynous/currentop/hermaphrodite etc people

I think black and white beliefs are okay -but only if you approach them with an open mind and not a dead set "I'm right, there can be no other alternative" line of thought. So I don't have a problem with your saying all christians celebrate christmas in decemeber, provided that you are willing to expand your line of thought when you discover that some branches of christianity do not celebrate christmas at all, and some celebrate it in january

am second this.
it seems stupid to assume one type will all like something, and to think its because of being that neurotype..no way.
its assuming things.
maybe its a newbie thing, because have not had the same amount of awareness as a lot of the more asd experienced users on here?

sometimes am get put off using the board because of over use of assumptions-users who assume the entire WP community is aspie, and post every topic [whether its to do with an asd or not] just to aspies, either being completely unaware of or ignoring the rest of the community-many of whom are autistic [classic/kanners,PDDNOS,BAP],and also those who are non autistic- ADHDers,SAers,LDers,NLDers,NTs... who all can share the same issues but are not included under those assumptions.
