When I was on ritalin, I was on too low a dose...and it didn't really help me....THEN my doctor switched me over to a very strong dose of Adderall XR...and that was too much....I was able to focus more and I lost alot of weight....but alot of my focusing centered on my obsessions....Over time it made me go kinda crazy...

It is really dependant on your brain chemistry.

My mom says Ritalin helped me. When I was a kid I hardly ever slept was awake most of the time, 24/7. Don't know if this was because of the Ritalin or my disorders.

I assume that it's better than taking cocaine to help you focus :?

Yes, it's a kind of stimulant, but not nearly as addictive as the illegal sort. (Caffeine is a stimulant, too.) And you can't get high unless you massively overdose. Good luck staying high while they pump your stomach.

Ritalin in general is considered a good help for ADHD, but there is a lot of danger of using just the medicine and not teaching the person how to organize and plan.

Some people have bad side effects, like losing their appetites or getting insomnia. For some people it simply doesn't work. The only way to find out if it will work is to try it; thankfully if it works it starts working right away, unlike antidepressants.

For me it made me Vary aggressive, but then again it could have just helped me feel some of what I kept buried in me,

It simply didn't work for me--I found caffeine to work much better. I drink a 20 ounce cup of coffee just about every day.

Undercoveralien you might just need to try it and see if it works for you if it doesn't discontinue use.

Nowadays I cannot live without caffeine I really love that stuff!

I have been on dexedrine for six week, I don't take it everyday, because it make me to hyper, I seem to pace more while on it.
