I've excused myself from jury duty once in the past by having a doctor sign a form saying I have Asperger's Syndrome. I believe it was spelled wrong the first time, but this time was was even better because a different doctor signed it this time, and she put Ash bergers disease. This didn't upset me, I just thought it was hilarious. It was easily corrected, though.

I get excused from jury duty by getting a buzz-cut and wearing a USMC windbreaker.

Such obvious signs of a closed, conservative, and militaristic mind are discouraging to defense lawyers who are looking for gullible, liberal slackers to put on a jury and get their clients acquitted.

Especially here in California!

what if the trial is a military man being accused of something - such attire would get you on the jury

I believe serving in the military is an excuse itself.

From what he wrote though, it doesn't appear he serves in the military. he only tries to make the impression that he wants to/thinks like military

I am a military veteran.

Current laws state that any person on active duty shall be excused from jury service (I think). Mere veterans are not so exempt.

My goal is to give them the impression that I'm a hard-line law-and-order type who believes that everyone is responsible for their own actions, and that they should be punished for breaking the law.

Is it any surprise that I have never had to serve on a jury?

Yes, because you sound exactly like the person a prosecutor would love to have on the jury

And a defense attorney would not!

Although I've been told that I get rejected by both sides for being a threat to "smooth and orderly" jury deliberations.

What? A guy on a jury can't make up his own mind?
