You sound like a prime suspect.
Hang out here for a while and read stuff. The articles and the posts.

I'd say it definitely sounds like it.

I'm a diagnosed female aspie and most of your characteristics sound like mine.

*The eye contact

*The being tired after too much socializing (i used to get so tired after school i'd lie in bed for hours)

*Saying oblivious things in a conversation

*trying to gauge the right movements and actions to do in a conversation

*making friends with people older and younger than myself

*childish interests (although im not sure if this is just a personality thing

AND

* I also don't have the one completely TOTALLY overpowering interest. I am very interested in all types of performance, writing, music, and drama, but it doesn't completely determine all aspects of my life.

* I love romances too and I do want to have a husband and children some day.

You must remember that all aspies will differ in traits, and they're only a general indication of the condition. Things like career preference and whether or not you want to get married I find vary hugely among aspies.

I'm caucasian but I seriously doubt colour has anything at all to do with it. I haven't seen any other Australian aspies on the site yet, but it's not making me doubt I'm an aspie ;).

Ok, sorry to double post, but i just wanted to make sure you weren't letting me diagnose you. :) My advice is to see a doctor and you'll either find out you have it or not; getting a professional diagnosis can put your mind to rest so you won't always wonder.

Being black doesn't have a lot of impact. They're underdiagnosed, but when you check a group of black kids vs. white kids and screen them all, they have the same rate of autistic traits & diagnosis.

I just read about a woman with Asperger's who's a teacher and since that was on my original post as a reason why I'm not sure if I have it. She loves working with kids and she learns a lot about the social stuff from the kids.
