Lot of people are nervous about a new doctor

I am always nervous when it comes to new doctors because it means I have to start all over to meeting and getting to know them and getting comfortable all over again.

My therapist told me lot of people are nervous when they meet new doctors, AS or not. I asked her if lot of people hate new doctors and she said yes.

So does anyone here get nervous when they meet a new doctor? Does anyone dislike getting a new one too?

^^ I believe I certainly become nervous when I meet a new doctor, however I believe I often become extremely nervous when I meet any new individual.

I wonder if lot of people get so nervous when they meet someone new, they sweat, shake, and their bodies are stiff?

I used to do well with doctors more so than other people but after one screwed me up with a medicine that caused artificial scoliosis I don't like new doctors. I like for someone to accompany me just so I am not so nervous and because I don't trust doctors.

It depends on what mood I'm in. I don't understand it, and wish I could choose which one when I wanted. Sometimes I'm anxious and I don't know why, other times I'm cool and I don't know why. At one interview I'm totally cool headed and do well, at the next I'm shaking like a leaf and do horribly, I don't get it.

Recently I changed doctors and wasn't worried about it at all. Saw him for the second time in four months just last Monday. No problem.

I don't like new doctors. I had to get a new Endocrinologist for hormone issues and I was nervous over that and I have my foot down to NEVER have another Urologist (they don't know my body or the huge surgery I had to go through!! !) My basic physician doesn't look there and she respects that decision. :-) (they'd have to do tons of scans and they'd still not understand my body!!) :-)

I get that nervous feeling about seeing new doctors. It usually takes me a few visits before that feeling goes away.

I was vaguely hopeful that a new doctor I had to see would be an improvement on the regular one (not all that dificult to imagine a better one), but he was even worse. I hardly ever use them, but when I have, I've come away feeling like I was a hypochondriac or something. Maybe my health's perfect?
