Finally getting help
I've known, without any shred of doubt, that I have Asperger's for the last 5 years. Every single time I go to the doctor for a check up, I always choke and am unable to say anything about wanting confirmation and help. I've finally gotten up the courage to make an appointment, and I have that appointment tomorrow at 3:50EST, but I have no idea what to say. I'm having really bad anxiety about all of this and I could use some advice or even a story of what you did the first time you told a doctor.
Thanks for your help.

i gather you're just going to see your gp to get a referral,
or are you seeing someone involved in autism
you have not been very active since membering up a year ago -
you been worrying all that time...?
i self-identified and got it confirmed rather easily, and
exceptionally swiftly i might add
but the circumstances were somewhat dire (still are)
at age 52, it's not autism that is my problem
my autism is such that i would have been able to cope
quite independently - if only i had known earlier
without knowing more of your particular situation
and particular problems, there's not much more i can say
it's not the diagnosis that is important,
it's what you do with it
it's how you manage to arrange your life
in a manner suited to your shortcomings & talents
