I hope this post is not inappropriate - it is about bodily funtion. please do not read if you might be disgusted. Mods, please delete if not appropriate.

I am watching a film in which a man said something about the doctor finding nicotine in his urine. He is a non-smoker working in a smoking office.

It made me think about how sometimes I can smell cigarettes in my number 2 bowel movements. I too am a non smoker. I thought about this and realised that the last time, which was last week, was the day after I had been in a smokey bar for quite a while.

Does anyone else find this or is it either my super sensitive Aspie sense of smell or my mistaking the smell for someting else?

Does anyone know if there is a likely science behind this?

I was thinking the same thing..... :?

I've never noticed my #2 taking on any particular smell... However I've noticed my #1 will often take on the smell of what I've last eaten, espeically if it comes out all yellow.

there is a small amount of nocitiene in the urine of even non smokers....

there is a FD near here that tests their firefighters for tobacco peoduct use on a regular basis. (Tobacco is out lawed there as are drugs). The Dr said that low levels are normal in all people due to environment, but smokers have a much higher level.....

Like a comic book hero! I have a super smeller too!

do you get weird smelling urine when you eat aspergras? I read that a percentage of people notice that. They either have that super sense of smell, or they lack some compound that is used to break down the smell.... no one but me at my house can detect it. maybe the smell you are talking about is the same kind of thing!

Isn't there a way to make your notebook air tight?

Like a divers watch.

that way you could solve your dilema.

To shower or to post, that is the question.
