My primary obsession since my late teens has been the Medical Field. I have always wanted to be a part of it. I was a Certified Nursing Assistant for many years working with Alzheimers patients. I then became a single mother and went back to school and became a Medical Assistant (like a nurse but not paid nearly as well LOL). I did my extern as a Phlebotomist and got my first job working nights (the best time for an Aspie to work) at a hospital. I then moved away to be with my new husband and tried to be a medical assistant. My first job I felt victimized by a coworker....she actually shoved me one day....and my second job I was fired because I was not a team player and could not multi task well enough. I went back to being a phlebotomist but I am unable to now deal with co workers and even some patients, the older I get the more difficult it is to deal with my stress.
Anyway.....to make a long post short....I have realized recently that I have trouble going to the doctor. I have never had problems taking my kids to the doctor or talking to doctors....unless they are "pointed" at me. It took me up until just last year to even go to a doctor about my AS....I was kind of forced by my husband LOL. I mean...I will go to the doctor if I am really ill or injured but I really try to avoid it like the plague, so to speak. Maybe its just that I dont want some strange person touching me or talking about intimate things, like whats going on in my head.
Does anyone else have this problem????

I have that, too. Bigtime. Like will never go. Thank god I have never have to been in a hospital. I would probably just leave.
