Do you have any SPECIFIC memories of a lynch mob? That would be very interesting if you did. Especially if they were from a very young age.

Although crowds and mobs scare me, I seem to be largely invisible to them. I've tried to cultivate the ability to convey the notion that I am not a part, and ought to be of no concern to the "mob". Afterwards, I may be shaken up, especially if I see actual violence, but at the time I am at my most "detached".

I think I read in one of the threads here, that someone attributed to their aspie-ness their ability to be calm and function in a crisis. I have tried to cultivate another attribute, that of deliberately not resonating a specific emotion as a sort of "pattern disrupt" when someone is either having or trying to precipitate an argument. Sometimes saying something deliberately incongruous, but not rude, will throw them off their game long enough to either divert them into another train of thought, or in a worst case scenario, make myself suddenly unavailable.

It can be very hard to argue with me in person. I find that going immediately to something that is indisputably, and in-arguably agreeable can often defuse and confuse the situation to the point that the other person may actually forget what they wanted to argue about.

Maybe I did it right (quote).

Are there homogenous groups of aspies anywhere? That's a really interesting idea. I saw someone wanted to have an aspie meeting in Houston (Poopylungstuffing?) Are there meetings of groups of aspies? what is that LIKE?
