Military aspies

I was wondering if there were aspies on this forum that are planning to join the military. I plan on joining the Air Force, probably because im in my high schools AFJROTC.

I was kind of in a complete WTH state when I graduated high school and considered it, then worried I might be (more directly) manipulated by the whims of political/economic human brokerers, in fact in order to harm others. So... nah.

I was in the army for 5 years, active duty, and I have considered joining my state's National Guard. Though if I had to do it over again, I'd join the Air Force. Ah well.

I had been in the military for about 6 months. I was discharged with depression, but I was given an honerable discharge, and if I want to go back in, I just need a shrink's ok.

The biggest complication in being in the military for me was that I wanted to have time to focus on my obsessions, and this I didn't have; plus some of the social aspects of it. If I go back, I will pick something else where you don't have to socialize that much, and I will probably try to become a warrent officer, and not have a ton of NCOs above you in rank.

A diagnosis of Asperger's precludes you from serving here in Oz.

What about the US?
