I'm not, I don't like specific people, but I try to be social.

I love humankind. It's people that I can't stand.

Misanthropy is disliking people in general.

Oh.

Yeah- that is 110% me. If I could live out in the woods and not see a single person for weeks at a time, I'd be cool with that.

ETA: I just realized my post is more about being anti-social without a reason. Let me expand my thought: I think people in general are selfish, self-serving, mean and did I mention selfish. I think the average person would throw a stranger under a bus to cross the street more quickly. I think most people live with a sense of entitlement, lack of humility and absolutely no regard for anyone but themselves.
There are days I just grumble all the way home from work because people just suck a__.

What's the term for disliking just one person?

Really? I find people tiring, but not totally a bad thing.
Have you had mainly bad experiences with people?

OoOoOoAnaOoOo (Sorry if it's spelled wrong): It's called hate or detest, or just disliking.

I like people similar to me. There are many categories of people I can't stand though, like dumb sorority girls (I certainly don't mind smart ones) and "gangsta" type people.

Certainly not all my experiences are "bad". I have a small group of really good friends, my partner is amazing and my soon-to-be-ex-boss is a cool guy. It's almost everyone outside of that small circle that I can't deal with: The rude drivers, the shallow salespeople, the competitive intellectual types (on and on and on...). That is why I try very hard to remain in my circle and venture out only when absolutely necessary.

I'm gonna come up with my own term: Monomisanthropy (it means disliking only one person and not a few, some or the entire human race) and I think I bring that out in others. I only become misanthropic when I'm the target of other's monomisanthropy.

No, I like humanity. Our intelligence makes us the nastiest creatures on the planet, but also the nicest, and I don't think we do too badly all things considered. Decent people doing ordinary jobs just don't make the headlines.

I'm like that, but I can socialise outside of my circle, but not as well as I can IN my circle.
It's like in History (GCSE) someone asked what the Holocaust was.
They then proceeded to ask for a foot massage from me.

It's experiences like this that keep them out of my circle, but at a cost.
Sorry, if I sound vague.

Not a misanthrope.

People can't help being people. It's very much like chimpanzees can't help being chimpanzees. Most are hardly aware of what they're doing. It's not their fault.

Of course, given people's astonishing capacity for self-delusion, rationalization, deception, and downright evil, it's still a good idea to stay smart, be cautious, and remain wary.

Being good doesn't mean you have to be stupid.

I have to ask...why did someone ask you for a foot massage in history class?

Yes. I hate people and hate the human race in general. If something happened where every single human (well aside from my mom) just disapeared I could not be happier.
