Hi all

I just want to know if anyone has a similar thing to this.
Almost every morning when I wake up I have a song in my head. It is not just a song that I have heard recently and so is stuck.
It is often something I have not heard for a long time.
It is like my brain just chooses something from its vast storehouse of music that it has been exposed to over my lifetime.
My mom has this too. She calls it her brain-song.

well, sometimes i wake up and hear some song in my head. just a random song that i know. in rare cases i hear it in the dream then i wake up and the song keeps playing. when it's good i think - okay, Lori's Brain-Radio is on a good wave today! if it's sad or unwanted i just think - what the hell??! - and try to remember and turn on another song

Yeah I do that. I wake up with a random song in my head. It's fun.

If I'm depressed I don't have any music in my head and that's when you need to worry imo

ps I hate ambiguous thread titles!!

I must be very bored if I go into a thread with a generic title.

That said, I tend to start singing, without noticing, some song that I haven't heard in a very long time, and when I realize it, I also realize that the lyrics are relevant to my thoughts / situation at the moment. It's an unconscious association process, I guess.

It's just easy to skip over generic titles since you have no idea if the subject interests you or not.
