The list can go on but I will not continue it, just an example. Sounds like people preaching to me. Although getting the user banned, I am NOT against. I am all for it, show the world it's not tolerated :)

For me personally: Because this guy is advising people with autistic children on chelation (which is an invasive medical procedure) and has deluded himself into thinking he's an expert. He is posting on this group that he has cured several people.

If he tried to cure me, I'd break every bone in his body, by myself.

I most likely know the girl that set that group up anyway, she was a flamewarrior from germany on youtube who went by the name tanjakoch.
She says that she got raped by an autistic and that all autistics rape people

I've seen that guy and his kid (photographs) on the autism speaks social networking group (joined briefly out of curiousity). Yep, he's very real. :(

I showed some of his blog entries (hating autism) to my psychotherapist. She thinks he has psychosis!

I don't know if I should be creeped out by some of the things he says or simply amused. I remember on one the autism speaks threads he told an aspergian girl that 'God hates you' because she apparently, by seeing ASDs as a positive thing, murdered hundreds of innocent children or something along those lines (I'm not sure but I have a feeling that he went through the ten commandments and somehow managed to compare breaking them, in a bizaar way with the neurodiversity movement).

But this guy has plenty of supporters along the curbie circles.

edit: I bet that 'as partners' forum would love to know about this group. They all have a rapport of insanity.

I actually lol'ed when I read that explanation of the group.

I see it like this:

There's only a handful of members on there, the long-winded rambling group info is so full of factual errors that nobody serious about autism would bother reading more than a few paragraphs, and it's clearly by someone who's had an awful experience with someone who happens to be autistic and is using that group as her way of dealing with it. Which is fine; we all deal with trauma differently.

John Best, I'm positive is on the spectrum himself and his hatred of autism/AS is simply his way of dealing with his anger at realising he's not 'perfect'. He's probably terrified of ending up like his son, or of his son not getting better and not having anyone to care for him when John himself is gone etc. To me he reads like a scared parent angry at the world for his son not being perfect, and using his rantings and ramblings to vent that anger. He's totally obsessed, sees things totally black-and-white, stubborn as hell... all of which I'm sure we can relate to.

So how about we just ignore the group (report if you want), stop fuelling the fire, and let Best get on to deal with his frustration and his anger and his grief the way he needs to.

I genuinely feel very sorry for the man.

ive exchanged emails with John Best in the past and attmepted to politely debate him on the natural variation blog (where im not liked one bit by the members of that group).
It had crossed my mind that he was an impostor and was really for autistic individuals and was just making a fool of himself in the hopes of making parents who believed in vaccinations and mercury playing a part in autism look bad.
Christschool convinced me he is NOT a fake and really does believe what he says.
In the end I agree that he MIGHT be on the spectrum himself but I think its more likely that he is actually a mentally disabled person.
I'm not saying that to be mean...just stating an opinion.
One thing became clear to me though...John Best simply CAN NOT even begin to entertain the thought that he might be wrong or that he might be slightly wrong. In his mind he is right and NOBODY and NO EVIDENCE will EVER make him reconsider his thoughts.
I dont know if that is an illness or what you would classify it as...I just know that this is how he is.
He will literally go to his grave with this belief...he left a rude comment on my last video...sorry John, I had to block you.
I told him that i was very advanced at math when i was young and so is my son...but i told him he is saying my sons advanced math skills are due to mercury...then what are mine due to i asked. He said somewhere down the line i must have been exposed to mercury too when i was young and it affected me the same way as it did my son.
There is no hope for john and the people that believe him probably dont have a lot of hope either.
I do videos on youtube and what I'm trying to do is educate parents who dont even have an autistic child yet...the next generation of parents of autistic children.
The trick is to get to them before people like John Best does.

Well, as my mum's religion would say. We get judged after death as we judged other people while we were alive, and there we forget what we did "wrong", so where does that put John? Not in a happy possition, imo.

But we will also be judged fairly. So maybe John just isn't capable of seeing that he might be wrong. Maybe we are all asking him to do something that is impossible for him to do...keep an open mind...and maybe he really just can't see how offensive and simply wrong his behavior is in the same way some aspies cant read certain body language...maybe he isnt capable.
Maybe he is.
He will be judged fairly either way and we all have to work a little harder to talk about understanding autism to overcome people with messages like his.
In the end he will be judged fairly, which may or may not be a good thing for him.

Good, just sit back and watch some drama, have some popcorn.

*sits in her seat with popcorn and watches John Best on stage with the other aspies fighting over "murcury causes autism"*

Ahhh some good entertainment, this is what is needed on a cold dreary night like this! Time to pop the popcorn! :D

I almost could, except that it really bothers me that he has an autistic child. Crazy people can be funny, but when you know they are destroying a child, it's not so funny anymore. I think if he has a son, child protection services should be called. I don't say that lightly, because I know children can be ruined even more by being taken from their parents than by the parents themselves. Like, parents say they are divorcing becasue their kids shouldn't live in a house with fighting--but whats worse is to live with out one of your parents.

But I would guess that John Best is a case in which it would be very justified. At least he should be taken into a psychiatric evaluation so they can decide if this is the case.

His latest blog entry is rather charmless- and I admit I do worry about his son's welfare in the face of where his sympathies lie. Let's hope he doesn't reach his 'breaking point' eh?

Wow, that is messed up. No phone lines to the abuse service. And the fact the website doesn't even reply to your emails.

Clearly she thinks she's clever using a terminology associated with hate groups to describe us. She's just using the same tactics Hitler used to try and create a master race, and yes she happens to be German. Unfortunetly since Facebook doesn't care that soon enough this will get out and they'll be having all sorts of hate groups signing up to their site, once it's known that they openly allow this hate site to remain up.

So in simpler terms, I say she's a real Nazi.
