Lots of us have obsessions here. Well, while many may have an obsession that's big and may last years (Dominant Obsession.) Does anybody else have an interest that is not as big, lasts for a much shorter time but is still an obsession? (Mini Obsession.)
I seem to get this a lot, while SpongeBob SquarePants (Dominant) has been my obsession for years, I always have a mini obsession to accompany it. For example for 1 week I may be obsessed with Simpsons too. Is this similar for anyone else?

yep. i've been obsessed with learning languages before; german and arabic. Theyre the sort I end up letting go of eventually. But end up coming back to. I find mini-obsessions very helfpful if they can be directed toward useful education. Sometimes obsessions can last only for a few months for me. Examples: animals, astronomy, the encyclopedia, various foreign cultures (Arabic, Eqyptian, Greek).

But I've gotten involved in some very non-useful obsessions as well----star wars, lord of the rings, reptiles, etc. Obscure stuff that have no real application to every day life. But it's still fun.

I can't keep track. Usually my miniobessions are strange, deadly diseases, barbaric behaviors and surgeries, video games, bugs, and science stuff.

I have almost too many mini obsessions to count! I only have three obsessions that are dominant, true Asperger's special interests, but I probably have, oh, 20-30 mini obsessions? These include everything from Full House to the 1920s. Neuropsychiatric disorders are my almost-dominant obsession, and SpongeBob SquarePants and Ed, Edd n Eddy were almost-dominant ones at a point in my life, but now, they're mini obsessions.

Yes. I do get fixated on things. I even get stuck on something that interests me and then I move on later on. My mini obsessions can last for a few months or a month.
