I saw my doctor about six weeks ago and he made a referral for an assessment. He said it would take a few weeks to come through, but how long is too long? I'm starting to get concerned because the letter that is supposed to come through will be delivered to my hall of residence, but I won't be there around Christmas.

I live in the UK and this is the NHS we are talking about, and I know they have a reputation for slowness and slight incompetence. I wonder if someone may have made a mistake?
