Anyone here find it easier to type than it is to speak?

I find it easier to type.

Yes. Typing is even more efficient than writing by hand, which is how I usually communicate.

Writing has always been one of my worse areas. I cannot do it properly and my handwriting always is illegible by someone or another (even sometimes I can't read it!)

Depends on how lazy I am. Sometimes, neither.

I construct thoughts better in type, but people often interpret my writing has having either a harsh, didactic tone or being superfluous and tangential. While I do get compliments on my speaking voice, self consciousness and difficulty with volume tend to make it more challenging than I care to endure at times.

People get angry that I prefer to correspond rather than talk.

hell yes typing is so much easier then talking. I can actually seem intellegent on here, actually get what i want to say across on here, in person my conversations are so limited, if somebody gave me an IQ label on just talking it would probably be a 50 or something, because of how low my verbalness is :(.

Yeah. Typing is only a third as fast, but I say what I mean to say, I don't have to worry about tone of voice or volume or all the little nonverbal nuances; and it's right there to look back over if I'm not sure I said it right.

I like talking more. I can type very quickly, but I much prefer talking over typing.

Typeing is easier than talking for me, for many reasons, not least of which is that I have a cleft palate, and so whenever I get stressed (Or have abuild up of phlem which since I have allergys is quite often) I tend to become hard to understand. Which then causes me to become stressed and the cycle goes on and on!

Also with typing you can edit yourself with out anyone ever having seen your mistake....well as long as you not lazy, which I often am!

Plus you can think about what it is you want to say and phrase it to your content.

Typing. I suspect that most people do, just look at the boom in text messaging.

I get very frustrated and avoidant when people want to conduct business with me over the phone, rather than through e-mail. it is very overwhealming and it totally drains me.
