I'm going over my year-end finances and trying to pick tax-deductible charities to donate to. Most of the charities I've heard about that are involved in Autism are of the "cure the poor children" or "let's have washed-up celebrities spout off grossly skewed statistics" ilk. Are there any tax-deductible charities that actually do good for the autism community and respect neurodiversity?

The only local AS charity I can think of is the Asperger's Association of New England which I'm not terribly fond of.

There's the National Autistic Society in the UK.

But that's not tax deductible in the States.

If you do not feel good with giving to any AS/Autism society then I would suggest not doing so. You are better off giving to something that you know and feel good about.

BTW, Wrong Planet is not an IRS deductible non-profit so the OP cannot give to WP and achieve the goals he/she wants.
