Normally I am a very quiet sleeper, sometimes I have been known to kick but it seems to be a rare occurrence. Lately though, I have been having dreams where I get so loud and toss and turn so much that my husband has to wake me up because I keep him awake with my incoherent talking and movement.

I don't think the dreams are any different than usual. I have dreams where I am running from someone a lot. Last night when he had to wake me up, it was one of the running dreams. Usually I am in a strange place and a burly man is chasing me and I know he is trying to kill me so I'm running for my life.

But yeah those types of dreams are nothing new. The real-life sleeping behavior is a new development though. Have your sleeping behaviors ever changed like that? Do you think it's normal?

My sleeping behaviors have changed like that before, recently even. A few weeks ago I had a dream that I was being ridiculed by a man who closely resembles my father (I hate my father) and I wanted to hurt him. One of my favorite sayings about people who piss me off is "I want to kick him/her in the head." Well in that dream I literally played that out - or attempted to, anyway. I ran across the room and jumped to kick this guy, and instantly I woke up on the floor with a loud bang and my head was hurting BAD. I fell from my bed (my bed is very tall) and hit my head hard on the table on my way down.

I am normally a very sound sleeper. I snore rather loudly, but I sleep extremely soundly and nothing wakes me up. My wife was actually asleep on the couch in the living room due to my loud snoring (lol) so she didn't even know this happened until I told her the next day.

Ouch. My dad when he was a kid had a dream he was falling and in reality he fell off the top bunk of his bed and broke his nose :P

I'm not a sound sleeper. Usually I wake up from people walking around outside the room, even. Which makes this even more weird since you'd think my own talking, etc. would wake myself up.

My best friend from several years ago had told me a story that her husband had punched her in the face in his sleep. She woke him up and let him know about it.

I am plain old violent in my sleep. I make up my bed sometimes, but the next morning it looks like someone ransacked the room (or at least the bedcovers).

I think, from what i have read, that these are night terrors. Different than night mares because you are "dreaming"and your body is some how able to move due to the deepness of your sleep. I have had horrible night terrors where it felt so real, and I couldn't wake myself, or if I did, I was still in another nightmare. Anyone else?

I've done this 3 times in the past. Well, once in the face, the other two times were in the arm. I've wondered if I'm just not used to having someone touching me, and maybe in my sleep I felt someone pressing against me and interpreted it as someone attacking me in my dream, causing me to fight back.

I've done this several times, but luckly no one was in bed next to me at the time. they had just gotton up a short time before that. I almost broke a window once when i swung my arm and hit the window that was at the head of my bed.

I've always had this problem. It's gotten worse over the years. Now The Missus wakes me and asks me to go sleep on the couch. I twitch violently, and spasmodically. I've thought about getting a sleep study done, just so the doctor will say "Look at these brainwaves here, FANTASTIC." Of course, there's no cure. I tried taking muscle relaxants for awhile, but they're a depressant.

If you are having dreams like that, then you must be dealing with a lot of anxiety or dealing with a lot of stress in your life that you feel is taking over you. Anyway that is odd that you would be able to move so much while sleeping. A hormone is secreted to temporarily paralyze you from acting out your dreams... in your case you may not be secreting enough of the hormone. If it continues you may want to visit a sleep specialist.

The times I have been at my grandparents as a kid and crawled into bed with them I would always get told about how I had "kicked" my grandfather out of bed, and by kicked, I mean I would kick so badly, he would go sleep elsewhere.
