is short term memory/working memory related to asperger or autism?
i have really poor short term/working memory which disables me from doing a lot of thing.i wonder is it related to asperger?

It can be related to the spectrum, but isn't necessarily. You could have a poor short-term memory and have absolutely no signs of Asperger's. A more useful question would be "Are people on the spectrum more likely to have poor short-term memory?" To that question, I'd say it's probably very likely. A person with one neurological anomaly will probably have others, since the brain is so highly interconnected.

Interestingly I thought I had poor short-term memory, but the last time my IQ was professionally tested my short-term memory was exceptionally high (and higher than all of my other traits). It assessed short-term memory in a state of complete concentration, just taking in strings of numbers and reciting them forwards and then backwards. However, in practice (i.e. outside the IQ test conditions) I tend to get easily distracted. I can't speak for everyone else with AS, of course, but maybe like me your memory issues are more complex than just "bad short-term memory".

I think it can happen to both Aspies and NTs. It may be more common in Aspies, but I think NTs are just as likely to get it.
